The Proprietors:

Previously Lynn Booth taught for Leeds leisure services and has over fifteen years experience qualified as an ASA advanced teacher she has taught all ages and abilities. She also ran the school lessons programme for the Castleford and Wakefield area and her own Swimming school at The Quaker private school at Ackworth.

Glyn Booth spent 10 years in the fire service during which he qualified as a swimming teacher and worked part time in the Leeds area. He helped Lynn set up the private lessons at Ackworth before taking the plunge , leaving the Fire Service to take over at The Swim School. He is also qualified as an Aquacise tutor teaching instructors on the delivery and benefits of water based exercise. He has been active in promoting the benefits of Aquacise for rehabilitation and helped develop sessions for Lympheadema groups and Stroke rehabilitation.

Lynn & Glyn moved down from Leeds in 1996 to take over The Swim School at New Whittington. They developed the largest independent Swimming programme in Derbyshire. They where industry recognised by the STA as the first independent Swim School to achieve STAmark accreditation. This award independently verified by the Institute of Leisure Management recognises high standards within the industry and is a form of self regulation. They attained Investors in people status in 2003 and where short listed for business of the year awards for the last two years. Through The Friends of The Swim School they worked tirelessly to promote disability and special needs swimming helping numerous individuals and groups to access Swimming, including Ashgate Croft School They also introduced their own unique patented award scheme. In April 2007 they sold The Swim School to concentrate on Swim 1-2-1.

Swim 1-2-1.

The pool was purpose built in 2004 to provide private lessons. In an intimate semi rural setting it provides the ideal relaxing environment for swimming tuition. The Swimming instructors are all police checked. They are experienced fully qualified teachers undergoing regular training and updates providing instruction tailormade for your needs.

1-2-1 Tuition.

We teach all ages from pre-school children to the elderly using, correct multi stroke techniques providing children and adults with the confidence they need to overcome their fears.

The pool is maintained at a comfortable 32 degrees.
